I arrived in the late fall to a rugged island surrounded by deep water on a grey foggy day. The accent ofthe people was a challenge in itself and a prelude to experiencing something different in this remarkable and historic land. The foreboding cliffs, the endless rock and the outports, with bobbing boats give N.L. a uniquenessthat I have found nowhere else. This is a land of history, hard times and majesty, where the son would want to do what his father and his father before did. I's the boy that catch the fish. This is a land with adjectives and geographic extremes. A land that calls you back. My painting from N.L. are perhaps my most memorable accomplishments
